Tait Halsall of Saints hit the highest score in Australian club cricket for this season on Saturday with his incredible 300 not out in reserve grade against Northern Beaches.
Tait is the only triple-centurion on MyCricket so far this season. His knock may also be an all-time Townsville Cricket record, and TCI are now looking for information of any larger scores in our history.
He faced 160 balls in his innings, hitting 17 sixes and 35 fours. Saints declared on 3 for 528 straight after Halsall reached his landmark. Two other Saints players, J Marchant and A Percy, also scored hundreds. Just to show the beauty and tragedy of cricket, two others scored ducks.
Northern Beaches started their own innings well and are 118 at the end of the day’s play. Only 411 more to go!
